National Botanic Garden of Wales - Middleton Hall Excavations 2011
This is a collection of images taken during the 2011 excavation of Middleton Hall, a lost 17th century mansion situated in what at present is the National Botanic Garden of Wales. The excavation in 2011 sawe three archaeological trenches excavated, supervised by MA students from the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David with the help from volunteers from the National Botanic Garden. Over 10 days of excavation, the original Middleton Hall which was some time prior to 1634 was discovered as well as an associated regency garden complete with landscaped terraces as well as a large rectangular water feature. These images tell a narrative of the excavation of what was discovered during the excavations.
