Disgrifiad

The Cardiff Municipal Musical Society provided musical theatre programmes for children, older people and those with disabilities. The society existed from 1943 to 1993. They were charged with preparing and putting on performances for the public and providing opportunities for those who love drama. The Executive Committee were the minds behind this society and this item shows the minutes of an Executive Committee meeting.

In this entry, page 130, the Honorary General Secretary to the Committee expressed great praise for the Choral section's performance at Brecon Cathedral; 'Judas Maccabeus' at Splott Road Baptist Church; the annual performance of 'Messiah' on Good Friday; two broadcasts for the Temple of Peace named 'Before the Paling of the Stars' and 'Sacred Dance'; with another broadcast of Welsh folk songs followed by 'The Maid of the Mountain' in the Prince of Wales Theatre. He then went on to praise the Orchestral section for their Christmas Carol concert in the City Hall - all of which were a great success and well performed.
