Letter to Colonel Gaspar Gomes Dias from Thomas Benbow, which asks for the receipt of the payment he made to the Colonel via Jose Larraury. He tells the Colonel that one of this calves died on the journey, and that its mother was sent back. He asks for the kindness of a discount given this situation.

I have to tell you that when I left there with the cattle, as the distance of half a league, a calf that came with bugs died as your foreman can tell you.

Am.o e Sen.r Ao Senr Jose Larraury entreguei-lhe a quantia de seis oncas em ouro, e hum fica no valor de treze oncas, para lhe ser entregue cuja quantia assim que V. … receba me fara favor de receber o recibo.
Tenho adizer-lhe que quando dahi Sahi com o gado, como distanccia de meia legua morreu-me hum terneiro que vinha abixado, como seu capatar o pode dizer.
