Carved from Ivy wood from St Fagans National Museum of History. November 2016. The carving of Ivy in November is significant in Celtic mythology. In particular, Ivy is also connected to the story of love between Tristan and Isolde. The story tells of the two lovers buried in a separate graves. Overnight, a tree grows from each grave, finally entwining. Although the trees were repeatedly cut down, the plant grows back time after time, showing the persistent and determined love between the two.
