The electric trams ran between Johnstown and Wrexham from 1903 and 1927 replacing an earlier horse-drawn tram service. The Wrexham tram depot still stands (now a garage and other businesses) on the corner of Mold Road and Maesgwyn Road. Important halts included the Black Lion in Rhostyllen on the Ruabon Road and the New Inn, Johnstown.
