St Beuno's Church, Llanycil, from west-north-west

Disgrifiadau

St Beuno's dates to at least 1291. Its southern churchyard boundary is delineated by Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) A holy well, Ffynnon Beuno, was formerly situated in close proximity to the church. Within the churchyard is the grave of Welsh Methodist, David Charles (1755-1814). He was famous for his preaching and leadership of the Welsh Methodists, and a statue was erected to him in Bala in 1895. The church is Grade II listed. Roman brick or stone, reputedly from nearby Caer Gai Roman fort and Military Settlement, is visible in the lower courses of its walls.
