Pittsburg[h], Pa. July 12.-The Reunion day of the St. David's Society is at hand. It will be held in Kennywood Pmk on Saturday, July 25. A strong representation of Welsh people of this county are expected to be present. tn the society meeting last Friday evening, the arrangements committee announced the program which will include selections from the Male Voice Choir under the direction of D. J. George of South Side. There will be solos and duets also by some well-known Welsh singers in the area. Married and unmarrid members of the Society will play ball, and there is so much interest in this competition that some are spending their evenings preparing for the battle. There will be races also for those swift of foot, and other innocent entertainment for large and small. A warm invitation is extended to all the Welsh of the areato enjoy a day of entertainment in the woods.
--Tomorrow morning (Sunday) Dithridge Congregation Church Sunday sphoolxill dedicate a bronze tablet in memory of the late David J. Evans, Superintendent of the Srrd"i;Hf#*as a faithful official for close to forty years. Speaking was the Rev. William Surdival of Gomer, Ohio , who was well acquainted with the departed. Also speaking were D. Lloyd Jones, Ivor Zacharias and Joseph Kingsburg. They spoke about the career of the departed and his industry and faithfulness. The present minster was expectod but he was kept from attending because of his health.
--Because of the oppressive hea! there have been large crowds for the prayer meetings to hear the evangelist C. L. Perry of Wales. This is a series ofthrc meetings held in Oakland Chapel on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. There were good crowds on Sunday especially in the evening when the chapel was full. There were excellent sermons, earnest and zealous. He is a good speaker with an excellent voice and has the best English we have ever heard from a preacher from Wales.
:W. Gough Thomas and his family, formerly of Pwllheli, have moved from Kennett Squudr"to Dunlap St., Oakland. There are four Gomerians living on that street now. On Tuesday, June 30, a baby girl appeared in the family, but it is sad to hear that the mother is in weak health. \Me hope that she will be restored to her usual health.
--Sunday, July 5, a little singer made her appearance in the family of Samuel Jenkins, Carey Alley, South Side. The motler and daughter are coming along excellently. The father of the baby girl is a bass in the South Side choir, and the baby will inherit the family's musical talent and will take her place in musical circles in a few yearsi.
-Today Mrs. Jones and her daughter Beatrice, wife and daughter of W. B. Jones of East En{ formerly of Boston, will go to Conneaut Lake, Pa., where they usually spend a few weeks on a farm by the lake. Mrs. Jones has been in ill health for some time, and it is hoped that the healthy breezes of the lake will revive her. Mrs. J. R. Jones and her daughter Margaret are spending their summer vacation in the sarne
neighborhood, and they greatly praise the healthfulness and purity of the lake breezes. Mrs. T. B. kwis of Margaretta St., East End is spending these days with relations in Cleveland, Ohio.
*George Bermo Jones of Wyandotte Street, is visiting Chicago and Denver during his summer holidays. He has relations in the While City and also in the crty [Denver] where the Democratic Convention was held. If time permits, I intend to visit the Cymric goldmine in Cripple Creelg of which several Welsh of Pittsburg[h] are shareholders who have received good news from it.
--Some of the representatives of this state returned disappointed from the Democratic Convention in Denver where Bryan was chosen the oandidate for President. [more politics].
