Burglars at the home of Thomas H. Lewis of Oaklan{ cashier at the Anchor Bank. He is the son of the Bard D. R. Lewis (FfrwdwyllQ. A seal skin sack full of gold, his wife's ring and valuable silverware, wedding gifts. Carter Conservatory of Music concert. Names mentioned: Prof. Chas. Davis Carter; Miss Hattie Jones (sang, the only Welshwoman on the program); Mr. George Jones. H. Evan Williams, tenor of New York, singng sacred songs at the Welsh hesbyterian Church on Second avenue. Mr. William Hughes made deacon atthe Methodist Church on Second Avenue. A. J. Edwards, Esq. lecturing on Jerusalem at the English Baptist Church on Fourth Ave. Mrs. A. Jones, one of the old pilgrims on Brady's Bend spent some time with friends in the city recently. Three children of the Rev. Dr. T. B. Thomas are recovering from Scarletina. Mrs. W. J. Jones (Mr. W. J. Jones of Pittsburgh Bank for Savings) has gone to Cambridge Springs for her health. Mrs. Daniel S. Evans of South Side is recovering after having been ill for weeks. Death of James Thomas of Cleveland. Miss Minnie Hughes of Soho, schoolmistress, did not get enough votes to go on a trip to Europe this summer. The iron and steel market is lively with enough orders to keep the mills busy for several months.
