This is the bridge that once took the main, Caerphilly, road from Glamorgan into Monmouthshire, crossing the Rhymney river between Caerphilly and Bedwas.

Thanks for your comment - according to our records, the inscription may read: 'Built by David Edwards, Son of William Edwards of Pontypridd Bridge' - it would be great to have this verified and to have a photograph uploaded if anyone has one - RCAHMW
