This is a copy of a postcard (no 18 of a set) that was in the possession of Charles Pope a RN Stoker. Charles served between 1918 and 1945. Charles had a long career, which included multiple combat actions. Amongst other operations he took part in the relief convoys to Malta, the African and Italy landings, followed by D-Day Operation Overlord. He served on several destroyers and had kept a small collection of postcards, with photographs of RN ships. Photographs and documents relating to Charles' RN service can be viewed on line at the West Wales Veterans Archive in the Charles Pope collection. The original photographs and documents remain in the custody of the family.
