This is a copy of a photograph that was in the possession of Charles Pope a Royal Navy Veteran who served as a RN Stoker between 1918 to 1945. Charles served on board HMS Express between 7th May 1938 and 21st June 1939. Charles had many photographs of the scenes like this one and he may have been the Photographer or close to the Photographer at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph, along with other photographs and documents relating to Charles' RN service can be viewed on line at the West Wales Veterans Archive in the Charles Pope collection. The original photograph remains in the custody of the family.
