Glenys James speaks to Mrs George Morris whose family emigrated to Saltcoats, Saskatchewan in 1902. Initially they had lived in tents but managed to build themselves a log house for the first winter. They established a farm in Llewelyn, North of Bangor after having lived in Patagonia for eight years. Thanks to having Welsh in-laws Mrs Morris is the only one of her siblings still able to speak Welsh. George Morris then talks about how the Welsh language had initially prevented integration for the first settlers. He recalls the beautiful singing that the Welsh brought to the area and discussed how ‘’Welsh’’ he feels given his family history spanning three continents. Mr Morris was able to take advantage of the opportunities and developments in Farming in Canada and was able to develop farming machinery as a result.
