Rev[eren]d Sir
There is a man employed at
the Abersychan Iron Works whose name is
Samuel Morgan, he was taken from his
house on the night of the Chartist outbreak
and compelled to go to Newport. At the top
of Stow he saw Jones the Watchmaker on the
Monday morning talking with some person
and he was agreed by him to go into the
Town in a particular direction and
others in the object they had in view. This
happened I believe after the Chartists had
fled from the Westgate and his object
in thus persuading him must have
been to have stimulated a second attack

I consider the man gives good evidence
against Jones and I have thought it a
duty I owe society to acquaint you of
it.

If you would wish the man to
be further questioned before he is subpoenaed
I have no doubt Mr. David Jones of this
Town, a person who has made himself
extremely active in the coacting the Chartists
schemes will call upon him and hear
the whole of what he has to say -

I am in the employ of Small Mears
and Tayler at their Abersychan Iron Works
and if you think proper to send to
the person I have attended & I ask
