I did not know any of the men
at the meeting there were two or
three there by the fire. I was at
home in my House Sunday
afternoon before the Riots I was
very poorly & have been these
2 or 3 Mos I am now very poorly
I got up & had my Tea in
the Evening Stopd in the House
when about 6 O clock a mob
came to my House and said
that I shodcome with them
I told them I would not come
They said I shod come
I had a sword in
the House I was an inside
Tyler of my Lodge (The lodge
of oddfellows) I was entitled
to a sword on that account
The swore if I did not
come away with the sword
that they would kill me
I was forced to go with
them they dropped me out

at the House it was very bad
weather it was raining
in streams it was very
dark I went on to the Rock
the Men that went with me
had Pikes as well as I cod
see in the Dark. I went
from the Rock to the Jenny
Tips when we met a large
Company. We divided
a large company went by
the Argoed & a large Company
by the Rock. We went on
to Croespenmain we went
on to Cwm Dws
We came down
the Hill from Cwm Dws
to a Public House close by
the Tram Road We then
went over a Bridge

and up a very steep path & over
the canal. We came on I thought to
the Welsh Oak. I saw the Company
before & behind us going into the
Houses & bring the men out
I heard them say there was a party
before us when we came
to the Oak there were hundreds
& thousands & hundreds at the
Cefn I carried my Sword
all the way with me & I sent
it home by one of the Rock
Halliers I heard 4 or 5
Days before I was taken up
before that I was to be took up The
Sword was sent to the Lodge
no one else sho[ul]d
get into trouble
