join and our house - our house faces towards Risca it has been built
about 2 years - I was in the Cellar with my mother during that night
I know a Man named I/i/srael Furmen - he was there - I tapped a cask
of beer while they were there. I remember Furmen calling for a Pint of
Beer while I was in the Cellar with my Mother - I can't tell exactly
what time I first saw Furman that night it was about 2 o'Clock
on Monday Morning and I can't say how many of the men the
Prisoner ordered out - I should think there was about 4 or 5 that
went out with the Prisoner.

on the evening of Sunday the 3d. November I was at home. I remember
between 9 and 10 o'Clock that evening 2 men coming to our house - when
they came in they called for a pint of Beer - other men 3 of them
came in - in the course of 1/2 or 3/4 of an hour afterwards - it was
very wet then - the 3 men called for a Pint of Beer - they took off
their Clothes, and dried themselves - I can't say that I heard
any thing said about lights coming down the Tram Road - but
one of the 3 went out to the door and looked - I can't say I
heard him say any thing but they were wishing one to the
other - the house was filled up unawares to us it was hardly
half an hour after the three Men came in those men were
armed some with Guns - some with Swords some with Pikes -
Mandrels and a number of Spears I saw some Cleavers and
Priming Rods and several things that I knew nothing of I saw

they parted about seven in the Morning - I heard them speaking
to one another - they were going to Newport - they said they were
going to take down the Poor House - I heard one person say
there was only 60 Soldiers in the Town - he appeared as if he
had just then come from the Town - he appeared to me to be
about 30 years old there were three or four of them together
they appeared to be like Millers - I heard them say Newport
would not be worth any thing in a day or two - I could not
