he went out to meet me did not tell me not to say any thing in the
Town about Frost being at our house - Father was very much surprised at Frosts
being there he told me he was surprised to see John Frost there - when I went to my
friend below I did tell here that John Frost was in the house I did not
tell any one I heard of the attack that had been made in the town that morning
- I did not hear that John Frost had been a party in the attack upon the
West Gate - my father did not tell me so - I did not think John Frost had
being doing wrong - the friend I went to was Ann Lewis - She was going down
town and she wanted to go with here - When I returned home I saw Mr Phillips
in the house - I went down Town I did not see or hear of any paper about John
Frost or for his apprehension - I think my father left home about 8 o'Clock that day
- he returned home about 11 o'Clock - I went out and I did not see my father
again until he came home and went to bed with Charles Waters - I know
Mrs Chiswell - I saw her after I saw John Frost - I don't know that Mrs Chiswell
is a friend of Mrs Frost's I did not tell Mrs Chiswell that John Frost
was in my father's house or any thing like that - Mrs Chiswell did not ask me
whether John Frost was in my father's house not till after Mr Phillips had been
there when I went into the Town and saw a number of neighbours I did not
tell any of them that John Frost was there My father came home up Pentonville
- he was taken that night.
_____________X

John Morgan Sworn, I am a Grocer living in this Town - I know the prisoner John
Partridge's person I have known him many years very well - I recollect to have seen
him on the morning of Monday last about 8 o'Clock at the end of the Cross Keys Lane
opposite Mrs Harvey's I heard him address a person that was with him I was near
enough distinctly to hear what Partridge said to that person that man's name is
Charles Evans - Partridge told Evans that he would meet him in 25 minutes from that Order
time at the Waterloo - the Waterloo is at a short distance from the weighing machine in the
same direction - it is near the tram road leading from the Collieries and the Iron works to
this Town that is the direct road from the Collieries and the hills to the Town of Newport I
did not see any parcel with him - I am quite sure that which I have said is true - I
named it to Mr Jacob Nicholas Junr at the time when he stood with me at the time &c
