Brief for the Prosecution -
Indictment States the Jurors for our Sovn
Lady the Queen upon their Oath present that Evan Edwards
late of Bedwellty in the County of Monmouth Laborer herefore
to wit on the 1st day of October in the year of our Lord
1839 and on divers other days and times between that day
and the taking this Inquisition to wit at Bedwellty aforesaid
in the County aforesaid unlawfully and seditiously did
conspire combine confederate and agree with divers other
persons to the Jurors unknown to raise insurrections tumults
disturbances and breaches of the public peace within this
Realm and to oppose and obstruct the due execution of the
Law and to procure fire arms powder and bullets fore more
effectually carrying the said Conspiracy combinations
confederacy and agreement into effect and the said Evan
Edwards in furtherance and pursuance of the said
conspiracy combination confederacy and agreement did
during the time aforesaid to wit on the 1st day of Novr
in the year aforesaid and on divers other days and times
between that day and the taking this Inquisition to wit
at Bedwellty aforesaid in the County aforesaid unlawfully
procure cast and make divers to wit 500 leaden bullets
for the purpose of the same being used for the loading of
fire arms for the more effectually carrying the said conspiracy
combination confederacy and agreement into effect against
