states I know the Prisr he keeps

a Beer House at Blaina ^ I was
taken to his House Saturday
Evening the 2nd NovrInst about
6 O' clock. When I went there the
House was full of Men. I was taken
there to pay 1s/- for a Pike by one
Isaac Tippins . I saw the Prisoner
in the midst of the people he was
speaking a speech. I heard him
say that the Charter should be the
Law of the land or Blood would
be shed. The Prisoner spoke about
the number of Soldiers there were
in Wales He said If the Chartists
held together the Soldiers would
be nothing before them. He said
they were to meet next Evening
He would let them know
I did not get a Pike I enquired
of Tippins the reason He said
that the Prisr told him it had

The Prisr. sd. he did not think they wod
be wanted as their numbers would
frighten the people & the Soldiers
but that if the Soldiers fired
upon them then they were to use
their weapons & kill them. The
Prisr. told the men to take bread
& Cheese in their Pockets as they
would have a long March
I was ordered to meet at the
Mountain near Ebbw Vale but
I went to Chapel & did not go
The Prisr. told us there would [be]
thousands & tens of thousands on
the mountain & that we were
to meet near the Chapel and that
there would be spies to watch every
one that staid behind that they
might live a little while but
should die like Dogs.
