Disgrifiad

Erthygl bapur newydd o'r Prestatyn Weekly, a gyhoeddwyd ar 28/09/1907, yn disgrifio 'morfil trwyn potel' yn cael ei olchi i'r lan ym Mostyn.

Mae'r toriad yn darllen fel a ganlyn: "The huge fish was reported in the “P.W.” last week as having grounded at Mostyn turned out to be a large bottle-nose whale, measuring 20 feet long and about 11 feet in circumference, and weighing approximately three tons. It was first seen at midnight on Thursday floundering on the muddy banks by a workman of the Iron Works. Why it came to this unsuitable spot remains a mystery, unless it be that he was pursuing fish. As it had grounded near the cop where the molten waste from the furness is thrown, it was found necessary to move the whale, which was no pleasant task. Ropes were fastened to it and the locomotive of the Iron Works drew it further inland. During Friday hundreds of people came to see it, and were evidently alarmed at the sight of the living monster. It was a curious sight to see children climbing on it in large numbers, enjoying the excitement. On Friday eventing it was shot with two bullets, and was buried on the shore on Saturday morning."
