We've been discussing this tank on the Slate Quarry Enthusiasts group on Facebook. Although it sits at the foot of the Era quarry exit incline, we concluded that this tank is unrelated to the slate quarry. It is a Braithwaite sectional water tank, and most likely was built by the Forestry Commission as a water supply for the camp in the village.
