This is actually _Morrey_ Salmon on his last visit to Skokholm in 1983, his 90th year, more than 50 years since his first trip, when he came over with Ronald Lockley, visiting from New Zealand. He's sometimes known as the father of British wildlife (esp. bird) photography, and was a tireless advocate for conservation. See my biographical appreciation of him https://nation.cymru/culture/revisited-footprints-on-the-sands-of-time-….

I agree that the name needs correcting. There is more about him on the Cardiff Naturalists Website of which he was a member for very many years and a former president https://cardiffnaturalists.org.uk/htmfiles/150th-05.htm The Cardiff Naturalists Society members have been working to get his pictures conserved and placed online by the National Museum of Wales
