Llythyr oddi wrth y Cyrnol Trevor (Arglwydd Dinefwr) at [?William Chambers], 20 Chwefror 1844 [tudalen 1 o 3]
Disgrifiadau
Adysgrif:
"Hyde Park Gardens,
20 Feb., 1844.
My dear Sir,
I find by letters received to-day from Colonel Love and from Captain Scott there is an idea the gate at Pontyates may be threatened. The latter says he hears it is because the Gate-house is built upon what he calls the Liberty of the Parish; what that means I do not exactly know: I suppose upon some common?
Will you cause some enquiry to be made into the matter without delay, and let me known wheter there be any real cause of complaint, for if there is, in my opinion, not a day should pass without it being remedied.
Captain Scott has sent Police there, and some one who speaks Welsh, to persuade the people of their folly. Stones, I am told, have been thrown on the roof of the Toll-house. If it should be required, on application to Colonel Love, he will order a Detatchment to march to Pontyates.
Yours very truly,
Geo. Rice Trevor."
