"Roedd Mr Edwards, a gyfeirir ato yn y llythyr hwn, yn asiant i Mr Goring Thomas, a oedd yn ymfeddiannydd lleyg y degymau ym mhlwyf Llannon ac wedi bod yn gofalu am gasglu'r degymau am beth amser. Roedd yn byw yn Gellywernen."

Adysgrif:

"Carmarthen, 26 August, 1843.

My dear Sir,

I thank you for the resolution you have sent me. I have not yet seen the 2nd edition of 'The Welshman', but will read it as soon as I can.

I am very sorry you are going from home. I am aware of the many calls there are on your time, but allow me to express a hope you will absent yourself as little as may be just present.

Might I ask whether your son can qualify to act, as magistrates are scarce in you neighbourhood; particularly to do the duty of going with the military when wanted, as they must be now, I apprehend, at Mr. Edward's, and certainly will be if arrests are to be made.

I have seen no report, as I said before, of the order of proceedings at Mynydd Selen, and therefore can not judge of Mr. Chamber's conduct, but I am of opinion with you, that if he has erred, it has not been from any want of a wish to do his duty, but rather from an error of judgment, and this I should certainly represent to be my feeling if appealed to on the subject, at least as far as I am at present informed.
