I have the same photo, but what appears to be professionally printed in white ink across the bottom of the photo is "Salvation Army Band Penarth March 1911". Robert Pearse is my father, George Pearse my grandfather and Samuel George Pearse VC MM, my uncle. Pencilled on photo it says 1909. George, Sam and Bob migrated to Australia at the end of 1911. If photo was taken in 1909, Bob would be 10 yrs old and Sam 14 yrs old.
