Abortion Bill looks certain to be crushed

The Guardian, Saturday 9 February 1980. Front-page story reporting the proceedings in Parliament on the previous day, when the Corrie Bill was under discussion. The report noted that 5,000 women attended a meeting in Central Hall, Westminster. A small number attempted to enter the House of Commons, but were mostly prevented from doing so. Women travelled from Cardiff to participate in this demonstration and attend the meeting.
