The Older Lesbian Network (Wales), also referred to as Older Lesbian Network, South Wales, or Older and Bolder, was established in 1993, for women aged 35 who define them-selves as lesbians and are opposed to discrimination. The Network, run by dedicated volunteers, aims to encourage pride and confidence. Since May 1993, monthly meetings have been held at the Friends Meeting House on Charles Street. It exchanges information through a monthly newsletter and organises social events (e.g. a women-only dance at the Coal Exchange, Cardiff Bay, in September 1994). The organisation has links with related organisations, including Older Lesbian Network (based in London), Border Women Network (a social network for lesbians in mid and south Wales, Shropshire and Hereford and Worcester), and Swansea Lesbian Line (telephone advice service).
