Disgrifiad

The Constitution of the Cardiff Archaeological Society, agreed at the Annual General Meeting, in March 1991. The constitution states that the objectives of the Cardiff Archaeological Society 'shall promote and foster an active interest in Archaeology amongst the people of the Cardiff area by means of lectures, field meetings, and other methods'.

This document is a part of a file containing Cardiff Archaeological Society paperwork, including financial issues, meetings, and regulations. The file contains items that range from 1970 - 1993.

The Cardiff Archaeological Society was formed in 1960, following a meeting at the Queens Hotel in Cardiff. Early meetings occurred in Roath, at the Friends Meeting House, later moving to their current venue at Cardiff University. The society promotes an interest in the remains and history of past cultures, and in the practices, techniques and disciplines of archaeology. The group, which is self-governing and non-profit making, participates in lectures, field visits and, where possible, field work.
