Disgrifiad

Sadly no longer with us, Flintshire-born, John Devenport was destined for a career in private enterprise! With a lifelong interest in the motor trade and competitive motor racing, his pluck and business determination were legendary. In this clip, John chats about the origin and early days of "The Circuit" an indoor karting venue, built from scratch by John & his sons Tony and Ian into what was to become a vibrant, family enterprise and important Flintshire tourist attraction.

Always happy to encourage young people, in this clip, John affirms his belief in hard work and sound business planning.

The debilitating physical condition from which he suffered all his life never thwarted John's optimism or ambition. With friends around the world in commerce, sport and his many charitable works, John became an acknowledged specialist in the sport of Kart-racing and an active champion of "safety in tourism".

John's passing in 2014, was a great loss to communities both in North Wales and his later home in Phuket, Thailand.

Fittingly, at the service of celebration and church funeral, John's parting shot to the world and the people he loved was, "Always look on the bright side of life". (c) John Butler
