Charles Edward Devereux joined the Neath Borough Police on the 6th November 1906.
He retired on pension at the rank of Sergeant on completion of his service on the 5th November 1933.
A copy of his certificate of service is also shown with his photograph.
He was a native of Resolven.

Contrary to the certificate Charles Devereux did not join the Neath Borough Police until c 1913. He was serving in the County Police at Pontypridd in 1911.

That comment doesn't make sense. I have a photo of him in the uniform and insignia of the Neath Borough Police when he joined in 1906.
