First Ystwyth Cycle Club Road Race 1953 called 'The Coronation Cup'. The route went from the harbour in Aberystwyth to Ponterwyd, Pontrhydygroes, Llanilar and back to the harbour. The race was won by Bill Rushton from Ystwyth Cycle Club.
