The new Port Talbot RNLI Lifeboat Station at Aberavon Beach with the anchor of the ss Brodland, wrecked at Aberavon in January 1913. The anchor was discovered in 1972 and originally placed near the Afan Lido. The anchor serves as a memorial to the host of mariners lost at sea.
