Charles Lucas and Ted Tuck, two well-known local long distance swimmers. Charles Lucas was the victor in the first Mumbles to Aberavon swim on the 22nd September, 1928. His time was 5 hrs 44 mins and the pilots were Bert Gunn and Fred Davies.
