William Bendall (Bendell), my Gt. Uncle, Police Constable in Breconshire 1891, lodging at Rock and Castle: married Sarah Bowen 1892 Llangamarch Wells Her father was a publican at the Aberceiros Inn. 1901 they lived at Talybont on Usk with their children Evelyn and William. 1911 William was there alone and his wife was visiting her parents at the Inn. In 1919 William retired after 30 years service, as mentioned in a newspaper article - which can be seen on the National Library of Wales website. His pension was fixed at £164 13s 4d per annum, two thirds of his present pay. He passed away in 1929, death registered at Builth Wells. His wife Sarah died in 1957, living at Mayo House Llangammarch Wells. William's brother, Thomas, was also in the Police Force - at Bryn Mawr and Talgarth
