A 228 page annual report of the Royal Humane Society. The Annual Report contains many details of the Annual awards of the Gold Silver or Bronze medals or Pecuniary award.

Inside the book is a letter from the Chief Constables Office of the Swansea Borough Police, dated March 25th 1903. It is addressed 'Dear Harry'.

On page 160 of the book is an award of the Bronze Medal to Harry Griffiths who entered the Swansea Harbour in an attempt to save a woman's life.

I assume that the letter to 'Harry' and the award to 'Harry'....are most probably one and the same person.

A fascinating read and insight into many awards for acts of bravery in attempting to save life.
