Compulsory Military Service Bill
All British subjects who on August 15th 1915 had attained 18 years and not attained 41 and who, on that day were unmarried or widowers without children dependant on them will be deemed to have duly enlisted for the War.
On Xmas Eve annual concert held at Galilee Chapel. Miss L.M. Owen, faithful organist of the church played the music. £2 was sent to the Daily News Christmas Pudding Fund for the Brave Soldiers at the front. January 7th.
The Rev H Evans, Rector of Llangum has 2 sons in the army. Second Lieut. H Herbert Evans, 11th Gwent Batt. South Wales Borderers and Second Lieut. W Basil Evans, 3-5th Welsh Regiment. Both Officers joined as privates.
Pembrokeshire County Guardian
A large number of soldiers who came to Haverfordwest from Hearson were greatly tickled at the sight of Hook women riding home on their donkeys. They asked the women if they were from Llangwm and one of them answered “No, we belong to the women’s section of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers!” January 14th.
‘Monday 18th January – Cloudy some showers some part of day. A calm at other parts. Affie went to work at Hearston today’.
