This is a photo of Rock Villa taken sometime between 1882 and 1896. It was built in 1870 by the Marquis of Bute.
Ann Williams (on the left )was registered in the census of 1891 as a servant . On the right is Henry (1816-1896) and Jane Morgan (1821 - 1907. Henry Morgan was the land agent for the Lanelay estate. They had four children . Elizabeth Morgan (1841-1925), on their right, supported churches and chapels in the area. There is a stone noting her contribution on the front of the Tabernacle chapel on Cowbridge Road, Pontyclun
