Disgrifiad

This view of the rear of Prickeston, shows clearly the tall chimney stack that served the nineteenth century kitchen. This stack seems to have been an adaption and extension of a much earlier chimney.

To the left of the kitchen, can be seen a fragment of a much earlier building, with the remains of a corbelled first floor fireplace and a slit window. This fragment is now part of an old brewhouse.

The grass area to the south of the building, between the house and the photographer, was originally a well kept pond, overlooked by the kitchen window.

It is also possible to make out the remains of another first floor corbelled chimney on the western wall of the main farmhouse, above the vaulted undercroft.

The photograph was taken in 1985, before the southern gable of the house collapsed
