Quarry, Plymouth Wood
Disgrifiadau
The quarry lies just above the uppermost path in the wood. It was excavated in the late 1800s to provide building material for the Great Western Railway (now the London to Swansea mainline), running to the north of the wood. The rock from the quarry, known locally as Radyr Stone, is sandstone, but it may also have had beds of limestone within it.
