The steep hill just north of Ely Rec is known locally as Devils Hill. As one local resident recalls “the kids love to climb up Devils Hill then run all the way down. When we used to go to St Fagans that way the kids would be stinking by the time they got there because they were all covered in mud from running down the hill!”
