Disgrifiadau
Sir William Hillary from Douglas on the Isle of Man founded the National Institute for the Preservation of Life in 1824. Thirty years later in 1854 it was renamed the Royal National Lifeboat Institute known as the RNLI.
Aberystwyth had a lifeboat from 1834 although there are no reports of it being used. The first RNLI lifeboat station was established in Aberystwyth 150 years ago in October 1861.
The video contains a short audio recording of the history of the Lifeboat Station in Aberystwyth and photos of the boats and crew from 1861to 2011.
