A survey of sixteen pottery sites across Wales, from medieval kilns in Pembrokeshire and the six-hundred-year industry of Buckley Mountain to the fine porcelain of Swansea and Nantgarw and the unbroken tradition still worked at Ewenny today. 

Drawing on the National Monuments Record of Wales at Coflein, the survey traces how Welsh clay shaped centuries of everyday life, from utilitarian stoneware and slip-decorated wassail bowls to some of the finest botanical porcelain ever painted in Britain. 

An accompanying interactive map locates each site, distinguishing verified locations from those known through documentary or place-name evidence alone.
