Dennis Aston who lives in Ceredigion was interviewed by Age Cymru Dyfed in September 2026 about his memories of compulsory National Service between 1956-58.  Dennis served in the RAF as a Firefighter mostly at RAF Manston on the Kent coast. During that era, Manston was home to the United States Air Force totalling over 2000 personnel, and Dennis was one of only 30 or so RAF personnel stationed there.
