New Marina in Burry Port Harbour Carmarthenshire from 2004 to completion.
Disgrifiadau
This video record documents the construction of the new marina at Burry Port Harbour, Carmarthenshire, filmed across multiple stages from 2004 through to completion. The footage captures the progressive transformation of the harbour from its earlier post-industrial character into a modern leisure marina, preserving a visual record of each phase of the civil engineering works as they unfolded.
Burry Port Harbour has a long and layered history on the northern shore of the Carmarthen Bay coastline, close to Llanelli. Originally developed as a coal-exporting port serving the collieries of the Gwendraeth Valley, the harbour fell into decline following the closure of the coalfield. The construction of the marina marked a significant moment in the regeneration of the harbour and the wider Burry Port community, transforming a once-industrial waterfront into a recreational and sailing destination.
The video forms part of a broader community archive of Carmarthenshire's coastal heritage and industrial regeneration.
