From North Africa to Central Asia: How Migration Shaped Civilisations (A Oral History by South Asian Heritage Society Cymru)
Disgrifiadau
This Oral History session has been organised by the South Asian Heritage Society Cymru (https://www.southasianheritagesociety.com), which is a dedicated heritage research initiative of KIRAN Cymru (https://www.kiran.org.uk).
This episode explores historical journeys of trade and migration, focusing on how traders once travelled across regions from North Africa to Central Asia in search of livelihood and opportunity. Their journeys reflect remarkable resilience, courage, and determination, while also highlighting how culture, ideas, and traditions travelled across vast distances, shaping connections between different parts of the world.
The session also reflects on the Windrush Generation and their significant contribution to life, culture, and society in the United Kingdom. Through these stories, we preserve and honour lived experiences that continue to shape our shared history.
