My dear Gordon,
Why don't you write? At least,
now that I have left Chelsea. You need not
confuse me with my late exuberant rash &
Protean housemate. He was full of a
letter about Ballie which he had written to you, but
was most secretive about a letter in reply: so
that I was inclined to suppose that he might
have swept me into the matter.
But I write now to ask if
you would be willing to look at the prose version
of two (very simple) Welsh songs, & to
make a verse or two out of them to be set to
two sweet tunes which I think I told you of.
If you will, I shall send prose & music together.
I want to include them in 'Wales'. Your
name would be mentioned if you were pleased
with the verses.
The book doesn't grow at all. I
have not written a line or made any complete
plan. But I am making notes. This
is a well known county to me, & Helen & I walk
in it all day. Helen stays till Friday - we
came down last Friday & others in a day or tow
I start off alone into mid Wales on foot &
hope to reach Cader Idris or Llangollen in
a week.
