Disgrifiadau

Letter from Edward Thomas to the poet Gordon Bottomley. Sent from Berryfield Cottage, Ashford, Petersfield, Hampshire. Archival ref: 424/1/1/1/10/136

Dear Emily,

Thank you very much for the proofs
which came after me to town where I was
rushing about rather. I was sorry to hear that
Gordon was no better. I hope he is now. The
proofs must have been too much for him. They were
as careful as any I think. But please tell him.
Turtle doves do go away & return in May; &
as far as I know none stay in England all the year.
The proofs of my stories are arriving now but I
will not send them unless Gordon is much
better. They are coming very slowly - 32 pp. a
week or so he might have later batches. - I
accepted all his suggestions except some commas.
He tries to improve too much what was
hopeless.

Yours ever
Edward Thomas

Please let me know how Gordon gets on.
