My dearest friend,
Thank you for forwarding my letter to Gwen. She has already replied and seems likely to be able to supply me. You must not think it is really for a play that I am to dress. It is merely - as I thought I said - to hoax a lascivious member of the college. Perhaps the dress wont be long enough for me. Besides I should make a very indifferent
Have them at once.
I am now off to work for a short time before seeing Haynes, who arrives a 3 this afternoon. Tomorrow, I lunch in the country with him or Morgan or both.

Women. The part is more suitable for a good looking fresher, named Elsey, a great favourite, and always called ‘Lucy Elsey’. I am fonder of him than I was of Brook; and he is really handsome and charming, though not very talented; moreover, I think he is inclined to like me. He is cox of the [illegible] this year. If possible I shall get him photograph in feminine clothes.
I hope you have not taken Merfyn to town. Yes! I have decided on the name.
My paper is in the Review of this week today, but without a proof is very poor in spite of a phrase or two.
I have got your Wordsworth but the one you gave me is at home on the shelves.
It would probably be cheaper for me to buy sardines and tinned meat here; if not, mother will know what quantity of both to send. I ought to.
