My dearest friend,
I have as little news for you - far less indeed, for you have a never ending source of news and maker of events in PMT. But please write in ink if you can: the pencil is erased after a day in my pocket book.
Morgan arrived yesterday, and is anxious to impose a name on the infant, which he cannot do unless he likes one if those already knew, which I hope
Known the victim.
I am sending 1/pound 15/- and mother £3 so that I shall not owe her anything till the middle o March. Explain this to her when you hand her the order.
Kiss Philip Thomas for me, and remember me to Mrs Harrison.

You say Irene's affairs cause D great anxiety. Why? has she
discovered the facts or did you tell her? I very much hope
she will emerge safely from this filthy mess. As for the
blackguard Le G, he had better not die of bronchitis until he
has ensured Irene's safety. After that the sooner the better.

I have had no news from the papers at all.

So far I have done a generally average of work per diem than
at home. Still I have done some; also a little reading and a
page or two of writing.

If you see Ernest, tell him that his caricature of O'Brien is
