Three other vases of flowers stand on the altar, flanking a simple cross and the chalice and paten used for the sacrament, which are hidden below a cloth.
Also on the altar, there is the chaplain's stole, a scarf-like vestment worn by Catholic or Anglican priests when administering the sacraments.
