Disgrifiad

Performed by the Mask Society at the All Saints Rooms , Penarth in 1934, the play deals with group of people invited to a country house and examines how key turning points in each life might have led to completely new opportunities.
The Mask Society was founded in 1933 by Louis Bielski, John Gibbs, Shelia Newton (later to be married to John) , Louis' sister Pamela , Kathleen Chambers and Harold Woodhouse.
Sheila later wrote; After a great deal of discussion we chose The Importantance of Being Earnest as our first three act play, and decided to perform it in modern dress. At the time it seemed quite a daring choice. We were very pleased with our success and at once set about choosing a play for next year. As always happens the play we had just done seemed the only perfect play, and it seemed we would never find another to suit us so well. We did and it was James Barry's Dear Brutus.
